The truth is I have found the past 4 weeks to be very stressful and I have not wanted to limit my food intake or exercise. This is in spite of knowing that once I start I will feel better about myself and life in general. For me, foo represents a short term “reward” for getting through the day. Sometimes, it’s the only pleasure (meaning stress reducer) I have in a given day. The hiccup is that I end up feeling worse about myself. I punish myself with negativity ie berating my lack of discipline, lack of will power, hopelessness.
However, if I pause long enough I realize that it’s all a LIE. These are not immutables. I can choose to be positive. I can choose to feel good and enrich my life with thoughts, people and activities that validate my self worth. I can also choose to be healthy. I understand that I am far from perfect, but I am willing to love myself today just as I am. I will be gentle, tender and patient with my imperfections. I am worth the effort.
These are the last 2 weeks of the weight loss contest. By now, you are either into the weight loss contest or you have lost hope. I hope that you are still into the contest. It’s not too late to get into the contest.
Have you modified your eatting habits ie smaller portions, less processed foods?
Are you exercising on a regular basis? As you know, weight loss requires a minimum of 30 minutes every day. Walking is a excellent exercise – inexpensive and effective. Another option is swimming or water aerobics which avoids putting stress on your joints.
